STALLINGS, NC — Local technology and business leader Raum Sandoval has announced his candidacy as a write-in for Mayor of Stallings, North Carolina, entering the race to give voters a choice in an election previously set to go uncontested.
“I’m running because democracy only works when voters have real options,” Sandoval said. “Stallings deserves transparent, accountable leadership that puts people before politics. Even in small towns, we can model the kind of integrity and engagement our country needs right now.”
Sandoval, a Matthews/Stallings resident, brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience in technology, cybersecurity, and organizational strategy. He currently leads startup Flowchestra, an AI Operating System, and Bakari Intelligence, a consulting firm specializing in AI strategy, cybersecurity, and business transformation.
While Sandoval acknowledges that running a write-in campaign just days before the election is an uphill climb, he views it as an opportunity to demonstrate what’s possible when citizens step up — even with limited time and resources.
“We may only have a few days, but that’s enough to prove what community-driven leadership can look like,” Sandoval said.
“When we work together, we can turn mountains into speed bumps. Progress starts with courage — and leadership starts by showing up.”
Sandoval’s campaign emphasizes transparency, community resilience, and equitable growth — key themes drawn from his professional experience leading teams, managing budgets, and helping organizations adapt in times of rapid change.
If elected, he pledges to implement practical initiatives such as quarterly “Plain English” budget reports, weekly live-streamed bulletins, and data-driven approaches to traffic, growth, and infrastructure planning — all while preserving Stallings’ small-town character.
